TCL 98-Inch C7L SQD-Mini LED 4K Smart Google TV

TCL 98-Inch C7L SQD-Mini LED 4K Smart Google TV

The TCL 98-inch c7l 4K Smart Google TV 98C7L is designed for people who want a large viewing area and advanced display features at home. It belongs to TCL’s C7L series and is listed as a 2026 model.

The television combines an LCD screen with an HVA panel, SQD-Mini LED technology, and a resolution of 3840 × 2160 pixels. It also lists Dolby Vision IQ, HDR10+, HLG, and a peak brightness of up to 3,000 nits.

For smart entertainment, the TV runs Google TV. Its listed capabilities include Google Assistant, hands-free voice control, wireless display through Miracast, and Bluetooth 5.4. The specification information also identifies an audio system by Bang & Olufsen, Dolby Atmos, and DTS Premium Sound.

The 98-inch screen is the central attraction. It provides a large viewing area for films, sporting events, gaming, and shared entertainment. However, buyers should measure their room and check the television’s dimensions before purchasing.

Key Features of the TCL 98C7L

1. 98-Inch Large Screen

The TCL 98-inch C7L 4K has a 98-inch flat display.

A screen of this size can make films, live sports, and supported games more immersive. It can also suit spacious living rooms and dedicated entertainment areas where several people watch together.

Before ordering, consider your viewing distance, available wall space, doorways, stairways, and the route used to move the television into your home.

2. SQD-Mini LED Display Technology

The product is identified as an SQD-Mini LED television with 2,176 precise dimming zones.

Local dimming allows different areas of the screen’s backlight to be controlled separately. This helps manage bright and dark parts of an image, supporting better contrast in suitable scenes.

The number of dimming zones is one useful specification to consider when comparing large-screen televisions. Actual picture quality also depends on the content, picture settings, and viewing environment.

3. 4K Ultra HD Resolution

The TCL 98-inch C7L 4K has a panel resolution of 3840 × 2160 pixels.

This is commonly known as 4K Ultra HD. It provides more image detail than Full HD when the content and viewing conditions allow you to see that extra detail.

The resolution is suitable for compatible 4K films, streaming content, supported games, and other high-resolution video sources.

4. Up to 3,000 Nits Peak Brightness

The listed peak brightness is up to 3,000 nits.

Brightness affects how clearly a television can present highlights and bright areas in supported content. It is especially relevant to HDR viewing, where sunlight, reflections, explosions, and other bright details may appear within the same scene as darker areas.

The 3,000-nit figure is a peak specification, not a guarantee that the entire screen remains at that brightness in every scene or picture mode.

5. Up to 100% BT.2020 Wide Colour Gamut

The supplied product information lists a colour gamut of up to 100% BT.2020.

A wide colour gamut relates to the range of colours a display can reproduce. It can support richer colour presentation when the display, content, and picture settings work together.

For buyers who enjoy nature documentaries, animated films, sports, and colourful entertainment, colour reproduction is an important part of the viewing experience.

6. Dolby Vision IQ and HDR Support

The TCL C7L lists several high-dynamic-range formats and features:

• Dolby Vision IQ

• HDR10+

• HLG

HDR content can preserve a broader range of brightness and colour information than standard dynamic range content. This can help compatible films and programmes show brighter highlights and more detail across different parts of a scene.

The available effect depends on the content, supported format, picture settings, and source device.

7. 144Hz Refresh Rate and Gaming Features

The listed native refresh-rate specification is 144Hz, with additional modes described as VRR 48–288Hz and DLG 288Hz.

The TV also lists Game Master, AMD FreeSync Premium Pro, a game bar, and gaming in Dolby Vision.

A high refresh rate can help compatible games display motion more smoothly. Variable refresh rate technology can help synchronise the display’s refresh behaviour with a compatible gaming device, reducing visual tearing in supported situations.

The advertised 288Hz modes should not be confused with the panel’s listed 144Hz refresh rate. Buyers should confirm supported resolutions, modes, HDMI input requirements, and compatibility with their particular console or PC before purchasing.

8. Audio by Bang & Olufsen

The supplied specifications identify a Bang & Olufsen audio system, alongside Dolby Atmos, DTS Premium Sound, and a Hi-END speaker feature.

These audio technologies are intended to support an engaging entertainment experience. Dolby Atmos-compatible content and supported audio configurations can provide a more spatial presentation than conventional stereo sound.

The supplied information does not specify the TV’s total speaker output in watts. Buyers who want a separate soundbar or home theatre system should confirm their preferred connection and audio configuration.

9. Google TV Smart Platform

The TCL 98C7L runs Google TV.

Google TV brings supported entertainment apps and content into a smart television interface. The exact apps and services available can vary by country, software version, account, and subscription.

The TV also lists built-in Google Assistant, hands-free voice control, and a feature described as Gemini integration. Availability of particular AI and voice features may depend on software updates, language, region, account settings, and compatible services.

10. HDMI 2.1 and Wireless Connectivity

The listed connectivity features of the TCL 98-inch C7L 4K include:

• HDMI 1.4, HDMI 2.0, and HDMI 2.1 support

• Has HDMI eARC and ARC

• HDMI CEC

• Bluetooth 5.4

• Wi-Fi 5

• Miracast wireless display

• AMD FreeSync

These connections may help you link compatible gaming systems, streaming equipment, audio devices, and wireless display sources.

Check the exact input count and port layout with the seller or manufacturer before purchase, as the supplied information does not state the number of available HDMI or USB ports.

Technology and Performance

The TCL 98-inch C7L 4K combines several display and processing technologies intended to improve the presentation of supported content.

SQD-Mini LED and HVA 2.0 Pro Panel

The supplied feature list identifies an HVA 2.0 Pro panel, CSOT HVA2.0 panel technology, and an ultra-wide viewing angle feature.

Panel technology affects how a television presents contrast, colour, and images when viewed from different positions. For a large screen shared by family members or guests, viewing-angle performance is a useful consideration.

Actual viewing results depend on seating positions, room lighting, and the content being watched.

TSR AiPQ Processor

The television’s feature list includes the TSR AiPQ Processor, alongside AI Clarity Master, AI Contrast Master, AI Color Master, and AI Motion Master.

These names identify the listed picture-processing features. Their intended roles relate to picture clarity, contrast, colour, and motion handling. The supplied specifications do not provide independent measurements of the performance improvement each feature delivers.

Brightness and Light Control

The product information identifies a powerful light-emitting chip, Super Condensed Micro Lens, Micro-OD, and a Light and Shadow Control Algorithm.

These are listed as components of the television’s display technology. Together with the stated dimming-zone count and peak brightness, they are relevant to buyers comparing Mini LED televisions for HDR entertainment.

Design and Build

The TCL C7L has a flat-screen design. Its large dimensions make careful placement and installation planning essential.

The TCL 98-inch C7L 4K television measures approximately 2.18 metres wide without packaging. Check that your TV console, wall, and access routes can accommodate it.

Wall Mounting

The supplied specification lists a 600 × 400 mm VESA wall-mounting pattern. It also includes mount references WM34A-115 and WM54A-115.

Use a compatible mount rated for the television’s weight and dimensions. A professional installer can help assess the wall structure, mounting hardware, viewing height, and cable arrangement. Confirm the exact compatible bracket before installation.

Everyday Use

Movies and Streaming

The 98-inch 4K screen, HDR support, Google TV platform, and listed audio features make this television worth considering for a home entertainment room.

Compatible 4K and HDR content can make use of its resolution and display capabilities. Streaming quality also depends on your internet connection, app, subscription, and source content.

Sports and Live Entertainment

A large display can make it easier for several people to watch sporting events together. The listed 144Hz refresh rate and motion-processing features are also relevant to fast-moving content.

The viewing experience will depend on the source broadcast and how the television processes the incoming signal.

Gaming

The listed Game Master features, AMD FreeSync Premium Pro, HDMI 2.1 support, and high refresh-rate modes make the TCL 98-inch C7L 4K a candidate for compatible gaming setups.

Before buying, compare its supported gaming modes with your console or gaming PC. Not every game or input source will support the television’s highest refresh-rate modes.

Family and Shared Entertainment

The 98-inch screen can accommodate a large viewing area for family films, presentations, and shared entertainment. Its suitability depends on room size, seating distance, and the space available for installation.

Connectivity and Compatibility

The TCL 98C7L offers several connection options for compatible devices.

The supplied data Ethernet connectivity, or the complete list of compatible apps and external devices. Confirm these details if they are important to your setup.

Warranty and Buying Information

The supplied product information states a 2-year warranty.

Before placing your order, confirm the warranty provider, coverage conditions, proof-of-purchase requirements, and service procedure with Sammesmart. Also check the current selling price, stock status, and delivery arrangements for your location.

As a 98-inch television, this model requires more space and careful handling than a typical television. Confirm delivery access, installation needs, and the mounting solution before making your purchase.

Warranty Coverage

The supplied product details state a two-year warranty. Buyers should verify the applicable terms for the unit sold in Nigeria, including which components are covered and how service claims are handled.

The official TCL product page identifies the C7L as the 98C7L model and lists its main SQD-Mini LED features. Regional specifications and warranty conditions can vary, so the exact unit and its documentation should be checked before purchase.
